Lately, David Letterman has been on a rampage of sorts. Ever since McCain lied to Letterman and canceled a schedule appearance on his show, Letterman has not been holding back his views on the McCain campaign. Much of this has been chronicled on this site.
Friday night, Letterman had NBC News' Brian Williams on his show. In this appearance, Dave did not mince words about what he thought about Palin and McCain. And surprisingly, Brian Williams made some great points regarding the importance of the vice presidency.
Here are a few of the zingers:
Letterman: "...To me it seems like, we are in such a mess now here at home and around the world, that do we really want a beginner in the passenger seat?"

Williams: "The other way of looking at [a Palin Vice Presidency], its September 11, 2001. The President is airborne, the secret service won't yet let him land....the Vice President has taken hold of the machinery in government inside the White House...that is also the job description we are talking about here."

Letterman: "I was tired of [Palin] invoking 'we're all mavericks'. 'No your not, you're up there in Alaska where you can sneak around and nobody cares'. I know that sounded harsh."

Letterman: "I don't see John McCain and Sarah Palin being agents of change."
